Growing up in her family’s business, she developed an early appreciation for hospitality and business operations. She worked her way through every position, from kitchen prep and baking to event execution, gaining firsthand experience in the intricacies of catering. With a keen understanding of sales and client relationships, she played a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and expanding the company’s catering presence in Sacramento and the Bay Area.

As President, Alex combines her operational expertise with strategic vision to enhance service and catering quality, streamline processes, and foster a culture of excellence. Her leadership is defined by innovation, customer-centric strategies, and a commitment to upholding the legacy of the family business while positioning it for future success. Rich Johnson | Special Projects Manager

Starting a small walk-in deli at the back of a business park with one employee back in 2007, Rich grew the business to provide the Sacramento area with deli style catering, boxed lunches, and full-service caterings of all sizes. Rich has helped the business grow from one part-time employee in 2007 and about 1,000 square feet of space, to a robust staff working around the clock in our own 11,000 square foot building today. Rich’s work includes developing programs to help grow employees and the business.

Since 2007 Lunch Box Express has been serving high quality caterings for businesses, universities, non-profits, associations, and emergency response organizations in the Greater Sacramento region and throughout Northern California.

We serve thousands of events each year, ranging in size from small, simple events with just a few attendees, to complex events that host several thousand. Events like routine meetings, company workshops, picnics, university conferences, and natural disasters that require short notice.

As a small family-owned business, we are proud to provide friendly and personalized experiences for our customers and their guests. We specialize in helping our clients create the best menu for their events, and then serving them perfectly. We are passionate about catering and helping our clients host the perfect events, however simple or complex.
